Hello everyone!

Here's what my friend from Osaka answered me about the 3 days of Kyoto:

1.Kinkakuji
2.Ginkakuji
3.Tetsugaku no Michi...for the first day

1.Kiyomizudera Temple
2.Kyoto Station
3.Fushimi Inari Shrine...for the second day

1.Daigoji Temple
2.Toji Temples
3.Imperial Palace/Sento Gosho
4.Nishikikoji Dori...for 3rd day

Do you think the list of attractions per day is ideal to reduce transportation? (Less time in trains=More time to visit/enjoy Japan)

Quick Questions:

- Is Tokyo Imperial Palace is worth viewing? If I remember right, you don't have full access to it right? Also, worth seeing around Tokyo Station? (Nihonbashi, Marunouchi)

The Imperial Palace gardens are nice and you can have your own photo of the bridge over the moat, but if you're short on time, grab the postcard.

Nihonbashi and Marunouchi area is usually the financial district. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think those areas have much to offer.

Perfect, your help is really appreciated! I think I'm really close to finish this itineray thing (Yes, I still call this an itinerary). Here's the last one I've made (Changed some things) Note that I didn't write all of the attractions again but there almost the same as my first post.

Saturday, May 14th
Land in Haneda Airport at 22h45, going to sleep in Toyoko Inn Haneda.

Sunday, May 15th
Take the first train/Bus to Seiseki-Sakuragaoka Station, meet my friend where I'm going to sleep while I'll be in Tokyo. If I have enough time left in the morning, heading to Shibuya, if not, then Harajuku for the afternoon. Shinjuku if I had the time to visit Shibuya in the morning. If not, Shibuya for the Night.
(Note that it's the only planned day since I want to go see Harajuku on a Sunday)

16-17-18-19
-Asakusa(AM) - Ueno(PM) - Akihabara(Night)
-Tsukiji(Breakfast)/Utsunomiya(AM) - Motegi Honda Museum(PM) - Shinjuku or ?(Night)
-Korakuen Garden(AM)-Imperial Palace(PM)-Ikebukuro(Night)
-'Side Trip' Yokohama (Whole Day)

Friday, May 20th
Leave Tokyo for Osaka, stop at Fuji Five Lakes. Meet my other friend in Osaka and a quick night visit of the town (Will spent all my nights in Osaka)

May 21st to 27th
Osaka(1), Nara(1), Kyoto(3), Miyajima(1), Okayama(1) Total: 7 days

27th Night probably or 28th Morning
Head back to Tokyo:

28th and 29th (Till 17h)
Free, Suggestions? Would like to stay in Tokyo though.

29th after 17h
Narita Airport to go back in Canada.

What do you think?

Thanks!

Three days in Kyoto might be a lot. I went with a student (and teacher) of Buddhism and after a dozen temples over a week even he had seen enough. Why not add some time to see Kobe? Unless really traditional places is the priority.

You think it's too much? I've cut a lots of place to be able to see everything in Kyoto.

What so cool/hot/must see about Kobe? (Seriously) I didn't see anything that I thought worth seeing there. My friend from Osaka ask me why I didn't go to Kobe to... This is where I look for sightseeing places

Inputs?

Well, you have spread about two days of stuff over three days, if you want full days. Kyoto station is cool, but that is 10 or 20 minutes of photos. It is, in the end, a train station. You could do Kinkakuji, Kyomizudera and Kyoto station before lunch.

Kobe is good for shopping and site seeing at places like Merican Park and the Great Hanshin Earthquake Museum. I like the shopping street that goes under the JR train tracks from Sannomiya station to Kobe station. There are tons of tiny little shops selling lots of junk and lots of treasures.

I am just looking at your itinerary and am seeing temple burnout.

Thanks MMM.

How would you plan my days in Kyoto?? And how much time do you think it'll take. I think I'm a "middle pace" traveler. Not to fast, not to slow either.

This is what I thought of the three day since it cut train/bus time:

1.
Daigoji Temple
Fushimi Inari Shrine
Toji Temple
Kyoto Station
-All of them seem more on the southern part of Kyoto

2.
Kiyomizudera
Nishikikoji Dori
Imperial Palace/Sento Gensho
-More central (excepet Imperial Palace)

3. (Same one as you said)
Kinkakuji Temple
Ginkakuji Temple
Tetsugaku no Michi
-Northern part of Kyoto

Thanks!

I am not going to take the responsibility to plan your trip for you, but I always walk from Kyoto station to Kiyomizudera, though some people say I am nuts, but really it isn't that far.

I would add Iwatayama Monkey Park for a really unique experience you won't have anywhere else.

That's not what I meant. You said I could do Kyoto faster than I thought. I justed wanted to know how since others say I need three days...

Thanks for the Monkey Park, I didn't know it was unique.
