the real truth is cause they wanna be black
most japanese males dont like the pale look anymore well the younger generation now. They like tanned/black girls because "hip hop" and the skin colour seems so exotic and such and such to them. The rest of the japanese girls are jealous, and so tan themselves to look somewhat "pretty". I have to admit, i have only seen 1~! successful ganguro girl. She wasnt too tanned and her makeup was mild.

The really dark ones look creepy. But if it done right it looks ok.
I'm not that into it. It reminds me of the older scene girls in America. I don't like their looks much either.

I think that last picture looks sort of like a real life, Japanese version of a rip-off Barbie doll. o_O;;;; Ganguro is a style that tends to only really look right on the right kind of person, I guess.

The biggest problem I have with Ganguro (and there are many) is that it's a joke of itself. People make fun of the "in" crowd by depicting them as really tan with blond hair, to a ridiculous level. They took the joke, and are trying to make it cool.
It's not working. Suck it in. I feel it move across my skin. Im reaching up and reaching out. Im reaching for the random or what ever will Bewilder me. What ever will bewilder me. And following our will and wind we may just go where no ones been. We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no ones been.

lol i love ganguro! haha, im a pale skinned british girl, so i slightly addapted it so i could do it for when i go out
 i didnt get a tan and just put the white make up on it looks alright actualy, it turns alot of heads haha
