What are your thoughts on Teenage pregnancy?

Personally, I find it pointless, and something that should not happen. If you're not mature enough t use as much precautions as possible, you should not be having sex.

The chances of the baby, in the long run, harming someone because of the surroundings it has grown up in, substantial enough in order to make a difference.

I think it depends on the husband, really. We'll argue until the buffalo returns as to what the age of the girl should be, but it doesn't really matter in the natural world. As long as a girl is with a husband who can fully take care of the kid, then there's little to worry about.

Of course, I doubt that is the case here...

Wow. I hope that scares some people because teenage pregnancy is never in anyones best interest and they should be smart enough to use protection. (both of the people) Some people think they are ready for a baby but have no idea of the costs and time it takes to properly raise a child.

My friend is pregnant she is 20 and she is not old or mature enough to have a baby. She dosn't know who the dad is and blames them for the condom breaking but she should have also taken precautions to not become pregnant as condoms are not a 100% method. The only way to be 100% safe is abstenice or surgery. She is wicken and they do not believe in harming others but she is still going to get an abortion which i think is wrong and all her fault and she shouldn't hurt the baby as it is about 4-5 months along and can feel. She says having it would hurt her so it is okay. That is crazy.

When i was in 8th grade there were two 6th grade girls who were actually pregnant which i think is terrible and the fathers were like 16 so they were like my baby daddy has a job we are getting married and im going to school and we will have a great life. Which is a very optimistic out look. They kept failing school and had to go to special school and they don't appear to be going to college and so i don't think it turned out too well. Plus when you are that young your body isn't even ready to have kids you arent developed enough its dangerous to your health and a tragedy for all parties involved especially the child.

I had a friend Kayla who wanted a baby at 17! That is entirely too young. She got what she wanted and her "man" wont even get a job... Young people do not think. God they are all stupid.(mostly)

I understand exactly what you mean that it would be bad for the child but she is only thinking of herself and it just pisses me off. She needs to get the doctor to make her unable to get pregnant because she dose not need to bring any thing into this world. She tried to drink and smoke so much she could have a miscarriage and save $500.

The thought of it for me is entirely disgusting, but maybe that is because I never want children anyway. My best friend had a baby when she was 17. It's been tough for her, and I don't think it was the best life decision for her, but she's doing fine now. She's at college and she has a job. Those kind of mothers don't bother me.

Ones that do is the ones that sponge off the state and get all the free money, when I have to work damn hard to get my money and I'm scrounging for University and stuff. But that isn't teenage-mother specific, there are loads of chav-mums like that as well.

I know two people, who are frankly idiots, both my age, tried for a baby and she's now pregnant, with no job, no money, no school, no qualifications. What kind of idiots are they? It's safe to say I ain't friends with them anymore. They shouldn't be allowed to have a child they can't provide for, it's pretty evil to say the least. Poor kid.

I feel that people can explore their bodies. Sex if for pleasure but mostly conception. People should just know that they take the risk of pregnancy anytime they have sex and even with protection they run the risk of it.

I work hard for money for college and some people just want to sit around and have babies every three years so they can keep drawing welfare each month. Its gross. They don't even care for their kids they sit in their section 8 apartment and smoke crack.

I think that abortion wasnt supposed to be the main point of the topic and im sorry if i steered it in that direction. Bottom line kids should have learned by now that their actions have consequences. The parents cant always be there and by now they shouldn't have to be.

To be honest, those people don't deal with the consequences anyway. I do by paying taxes for them because they drop out of school and work and take money from the state. I'm paying for their stupid mistake. It costs less to have an abortion than to look after a kid for life. As blunt as it is.

It seems pretty clear that you shouldn't have a kid until you've fully matured.

On abortion though..I say only if you really cant take care of the kid, if you KNOW that its going to be in danger because of the way you live, maybe you need to just change your life, maybe the kid dosen't need to be born.

But my nephew was the result of teen pregnancy. My brother was 16. His now ex was 17.

Yeah, it was hard for my former-sister-in-law...but...now her and my nephew are doing great.
He's 11 in two months.
Very intelligent kid. Learning Gaelic and Korean on his own. (For the same reasons I took up Japanese and Sign Language.)

Not all teen pregnancies are bad things. Yes, they're usually more difficult.
But it doesn't mean your life is ruined either.

My thoughts on teen pregancy? Keep your legs closed, it's not all that hard! I'm 20 and a virgin. All throughout high school I never slept with any guy (I didn't have a boyfriend, but that didn't seem to matter at my school). I don't plan to have kids until I've got my carrer all set.

It's as simple as this teens, don't accept drinks from guys you don't know and keep your legs closed, it's amazing how well that works. *Rolls eyes*

If this would really work it would great i think it is a great attempt at a scare tactic though.

Hell i advocate everyone around the planet stop having kids for like 20 years but thats just my opinion :D

If they're responsible enough to have unprotected sex - then they're asking for pregnancy and STD's. Just saying.

If accidents happen then abortion is the way to go if you're not prepared for having children.

So? When a condom works, it kills billions of potential children all in one go and nobody gives a fcuk. When you kill just one potential child the planet goes nuts.

I suppose same thing happend when condoms were invented (every sperm is scared, anyone?) but now theres adverts on TV for them daily... or.. nightly.. whatever.

20 years time and they'll be adverts on telly for abortions or the next best thing at that point thanks to technology - I'll put money on it.

This is why I'm pro choice.
If they feel like they can be mothers, let them, but in my opinion, when you're a teenager, you're just about maturing, there is so much to learn about the world and in a sense, you're giving it all up if one gets pregnant.

I want to have kids when i'm old enough to look after myself and another person. at 14-18, you don't even know how to lookf out for yourself.

Abortion itself is not so bad, I'd say. It's more the limit of time to WHEN you're allowed to get it done. Some countries allow up to 16 weeks to pass, which offends some people, as the child's heart will be beating around that time and many features of the human body has already been developed.

For me its a problem of generation, my parents have accepted thing for me while they did not accept for my big sister, and similar for my small sister.

The problem I think is that we(parent) accept more and more thing and the parent become "more and more flexible" with time ,from that, everything can arrive like teenage pregnancy..my question is Why there so much pregnant teen in UK?

I don't see that getting an abortion is justified,
you had unprotected sex, you should face the consequences.

There's so many ways to prevent child birth.
I only see that it's justified if you're a victim of rape.

Look at the misery in Darfour I dont think that the parents in this country wanted to offer this life to their children..
