No problem! I do not think too many people got to read your correct answer before you deleted it.

Please do stay on JF. We need a few more native speakers (so I could slack off a little).

The two Japanese sentences mean completely different things.
so for number 2; 来る can be read also as きたる which can mean "to arrive"

I think this band will arrive in Japan next year.

Sorry but that is not it. Refer to my post #7 on page 1.

You cannot say 「(place) + で + きたる」 even if you wanted to. The particle will be 「に」.

Nope but thanks for the reply.

You are so much better than those who keep claiming to know Japanese but have NEVER posted a reply in my quiz threads, asked questions or answered questions.

I guess I'll give it a try as well, although I'm 99% sure I won't get the 2nd one.

1. I think this band will come to Japan next year.
2. I think this band will continue in Japan next year.

#1 is correct, of course.

This is driving everyone up the wall, isn't it?

Masaegu-san, ...oh how did you know I'm from Kyoto?
But that's not exactly 'Kyoto dialect'...no one would talk that way in Kyoto today (except 'geisha' and 'maiko'), you know. You sound so funny(^O^)
btw-- you mean being active in this forum is so exhausting? O o.

Sometimes it comes across my mind....whenever I come across an English slang word that I haven't seen, I use 'urban dic,'... so maybe there could be something like 'urban dic. japanese version'? Then you could just look up 'kuru' there....

And, it appears I was right so I will remove my answer. I always feel kind of bad for answering any of these, but this time I wasn't excluded so...

If anyone is trying to find me… Tamyuun on Instagram is probably the easiest.

I did not know it exactly but your location says "Kansai" so I used my silly fake Kansai speech.

Yes, it is exhausting and that is why I would like you to stay long. It is healthier for the forum if plural Japanese-speakers can post on a regular basis.
