This is not a correct assumption about Japan. I have talked with Japanese women concerning size, and of course it matters in some respects, after all not all Japanese guys are the same size. In any case, I think if a girl likes the guy she is with she will not care so much about his size. This goes for Japan, and I think American (where I am from) society too.

Have you ever been to Asia? I'm 183cm (6ft) and there are LOTS of people taller than me in Japan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore.
