Critism is appreciated!!

Hey manganimefan! glad to see you here.

When I look at this picture I get the feeling that the character is flat. Ever play the game paper mario? That's kinda what I mean.

I get the feeling that if the character raised it's arm it would look like paper like that.

See those lines I drew across the last two pictures? Try to imagine those while you're drawing. You want the lines to curve around the body, try your best to make it look like it has thickness, and mass.

I think you should start more basic though. try drawing simple shapes right now. draw cylinders and cubes and spheres. But draw 3d ones, not 2d.
Like this:

I highly recommend drawing stuff like this on a regular basis. It will help you to draw more realistic people.

That's really awesome RKutagawa. I already like your version.
Yeah I've toyed with the idea of getting back into art as a past time activity and decided that I'll give digital art a try when I do. The mess from charcoal is a bit tedious to clean up.

Thanks for the edit on the picture. It looks great and I'll start working on perspectives and angles when I get back into it. =)

Thanks. Good luck! glad to hear you're not giving up art.
Feel free to post some new stuff if you want.

hmm, the proportion is kinda off.
Check out this little guide for next time:

your character is about 1 and a half heads too short. The average person is around 7 and a half heads tall, this is sometimes exaggerated to 8 heads tall for females (to make the legs longer).

But you only have 6.
as you can see it should go from the chin to the breasts to the belly button. But you went straight from the chin to the belly button. There should be a whole extra head's length in there.

hope that guide helps for future drawings.

yo, Kyousuke.

Nice pictures. All I have to say is to watch your balance. The second picture is really good. The first one is a little off though.

If you draw a line through ur character (through their center of gravity) you can see that her hips are pushed off to the right. Since her legs are going straight down, her balance is off.

To fix this:
push the hips back over to the center
or
move the upper body over the hips
or
open the legs more so she has a wider stance

keep it up yo
peace

Thnx a bunch! i referenced that pose from a picture. she is leaning on a table which is why the body tilts in that direction. i also fixed the should width. it looked to wide.

I was bored,so i thought i could post some of my art as well...

I know it has those lazy hands and legs,but its mainly because originally,it was a really small doodle,so there wasnt much space for details xD;

And pardon for the messy lines,i was cleaning them up,but abandoned it half-ways....i just got lazy cuz its a really time-consuming job if yer doing it with a mouse. So i only got her hair and some other random spaces cleaned up.....
